The London Cab is a Chauffeured Limousine
It seems that the grass is greener on the other side of the pond, or is it a case of what’s old in England town is new again in the US of A? A local US limousine company has recently started providing unique transportation for its clientele using authentic London taxis, manufactured in Coventry, England in 2003-04.
The London cab proved that you have to be different to be noticed. Just as the American vehicles, like Hummers and the like, stand out in the UK, the London taxis are different enough from local limousines in the US to be noticed. Owners of the limo business were amazed at the interest and good-natured reaction from everyone who came in contact with the authentic London taxi.
The London cab limousines are certainly different from their US counterparts. The interior accommodates as many as five adults: three across the back and two additional patrons on fold-down seats facing the rear of the cab. The 55-inch clearance from floor to roof will still allow room for a seated gentleman to wear his top hat, in accordance with an old English law.
It seems that what distinguishes the London cab limousine from their competitors is their uniqueness. While everyone has heard of the world famous London taxi, but unless you travel across the Atlantic, you will rarely have an opportunity to experience it yourself. The London cab limousines are a very popular choice for weddings in the US; day and night outings to restaurants and casinos are also popular destination trips.
Originally the concept behind the idea was to provide limo customers in the US with the experience of travelling in a London taxi. But, the concept is proving so popular that plans are underway for a vehicle that will accommodate larger groups. The company is exploring the possibility of adding an equally unique vehicle that would fit those needs, they already have plans to increase our fleet.
